Amma’s vision for the children of this generation is that their actions should be so fruitful that it would be possible for coming generations to regain all that has been lost. Their actions should be based on spirituality and should be a reflection of Amma’s love for nature.
The students of Amrita Vidyalayam, Pathanamthitta, have started planting flowering plants, medicinal plants and trees inside the school compound and outside the campus.
As the first step, on November 5th, 2014, the students of Class 8 planted rose saplings along the boundary of the school compound. On November 6th, Class 9 planted medicinal plants on the prepared ground outside the school gate. The students will also be planting trees on the ring road of Pathanamthitta Town as a part of this project. Student leaders have also been appointed to take care of the plants and they are made aware of the value of gardening.
We hope that through this, the students will acquire a much needed understanding of the hard work involved in keeping our environment green as well as the glory of it.
