A Road Safety Rules Awareness Class was organized in Amrita Vidyalayam, Pathanamthitta by BSS and Oxford College, Pathanamthitta. The class was inaugurated by the Chairman of Pathanamthitta Municipality, Advocate Suresh Kumar, who delivered the inaugural speech. The school Vice Principal gave the welcome speech.
The chief guest of the programme was our Hon. Assistant Collector of Pathanamthitta, Dr. Sreeram Venkataraman IAS, who was the second rank holder in the 2012 UPSC exam. In his speech, he described his days in school and at the Trivandrum Medical College. He also talked about the importance of traffic rules in our life. His speech was amazing and vibrant as was his personality. This was followed by an awareness class held by the Vehicle Inspector of Pathanamthitta, Sri Ajikumar. He explained the various traffic rules and signals, and showed clippings related to the importance of road safety measures. Later, prizes were distributed to the winners of the Slogan Writing Competition on Road Safety. The programme ended with a vote of thanks by the BSS President.
