AMMA reminds us, “Youngsters need to understand the purpose of life. They need courage and wisdom to face the challenges of life. With that understanding they become the light of the world. If we care for them responsibly, moulding their whole character with love, then the future of the world will be safe”. AMMA says that there are two kinds of education: education for life and education for a livelihood. AMMA says that spirituality, or education for life is the most important thing. But at the same time, AMMA also stresses “Education for living.” It is Her wish to bring the two together, creating professionals in all fields with the skills, the mental strength and the heart to uplift the world. Education for life and education for living – in Amma’s hands they have become one.
Realizing this fact, we Amritians give our students an “Education for Life”. The school re-opened after summer vacation on June 1, 2015 with an opening day ceremony. The ceremony started with prayer. Amma’s Dhyanaslokam, Ashtotharam, Lalitha Sahasranamam and bhajans were chanted by the school choir. The Morning Prayers ended with Arathi and Santhi mantras. The newcomers were welcomed by the school, and our beloved Principal Sethuji delivered a message to the students. The first standard students were taken to the new building by students of class XII, to the accompaniment of Vanchipattu.
