The New Year with its hopes of prosperity and happiness was welcomed by students of Amrita Vidyalayam, Pathanamthitta in an entirely different way. A New Year resolution to help the poor and needy and to extend tender hands of compassion and love to them compelled the students to visit “Manikandanasram”, Perunad, on January 2, 2016. Almost 15 students and 8 teachers cherished every moment that they spent in the company of the dear ones.
The members of Amritam Club rendered their help to 40 Adivasi families in Nilakkal forest by offering 385 kg of rice and 42 kg of green gram, which was collected as part of the “Pidiyari” programme. As “Amritians”, our students wished to celebrate this New Year by fulfilling Satguru Mata Amritanandamayi Devi’s dream and aspiration with a smiling face and compassionate thoughts.
