“Amritam Gayathi”- the bhajan group of Amrita Vidyalayam, Pathanamthitta made a unique performance at the Malayalappuzha Temple on the 41st day of the Mandala season.
The group comprising of students was accompanied by two teachers. Hundreds of people thronged to listen to the bhajans that were purely devotional. The goal of “Amritam Gayathi” is to instil “bhakthi” or “devotion” in the minds of people, and to remove undesirable thoughts and ideas from their minds. In this “Kaliyuga”, violence and bloodshed are caused because of man’s “desires”. The Gita says – “Desire is the root cause of all evil”. Devotion to God wipes out all our desires. “Amritam Gayathi” is aimed at filling the hearts of people with pure bhakthi. Through singing bhajans and chanting sukthams, “Amritam Gayathi” moved the hearts of hundreds, thus fulfilling Satguru Mata Amritanandamayi Devi’s vision.
Every month, our bhajan group, “Amritam Gayathi” holds performance in temples with the mission of bringing as many people as possible people to the spiritual path.
