Ramayana is one of the greatest Hindu epics that hold great religious significance. Ramayana month is dedicated to commemorate the epic Ramayana story. It is considered one of the most important Hindu texts. The story tells of Lord Rama’s journey from exile to victory over the demon king Ravana. The month is celebrated with special prayers, readings, and performances of the Ramayana story. Ramayana Masam (month) in Kerala is observed in the Malayalam month of Karkidakam (July – August). This year, Ramayana Masam began on July 17th and ends on August 16th. It is the last month in the Malayalam calendar. Due to heavy rains during the monsoon, the month is referred to as ‘the month of scarcity‘.
Ramayana Month Celebrations at our school began on July 17th and ended on August 16th.
