Onam is one of the major harvest festivals celebrated by the Malayali community with great pomp and enthusiasm across Kerala. Thiruvonam is considered the most important day of the festival, as it is believed that on this day, the legendary King Mahabali returns to Kerala from the underworld to visit his people. The festival of Onam is celebrated in the month of Chingam, the first month of the Malayalam year, called Kolla Varsham.
The Onam celebrations conducted at our school on 25th August 2023, started with Athappookkalam. Various programs were conducted for teachers and students, such as, musical chairs, dance, group songs, mega Thiruvathira, lemon and spoon race, etc. Teachers and students participated in the mega Thiruvathira. Kerala during Onam is marked by happiness, excitement, and fun among all sections of people.
