Kathakali is a vibrant dance-drama tradition from Kerala, India. It is a unique blend of music, dance, drama, and ritual. Rooted in Hindu mythology, Kathakali is a visual art form where the performers, adorned in elaborate costumes and makeup, enact stories through intricate gestures and facial expressions.
Kathakali Mela was conducted by Pathanamthitta District Kathakali Club, Ayrur Kathakali Gramam. Students of Class VIII attended the inaugural ceremony. The 17th Kathakali Mela lasted from January 8th to 14th. Various Kathakali competitions, quizzes, and speeches were held on this day. These kinds of programmes give children awareness about our art forms.
