National Handloom Day celebrates India’s rich and diverse handloom heritage, emphasizing the significance of traditional weaving techniques and the skilled artisans who preserve them.
On 7th August 2024, 86 students and 4 teachers from Class VII visited KHADI BHAVAN in Elanthoor, Pathanamthitta, as part of the Handloom Day observance. The trip aimed to educate students about the importance of khadi and its impact on people’s lives. During the visit, students engaged in an interactive session with the employees, gaining a deeper understanding of the khadi industry. The experience left a lasting impression, instilling a sense of pride and appreciation for handmade products.
In connection with National Handloom Day, students from classes VI, VII, and VIII participated in a house-wise bulletin board presentation on the same day. Each house was assigned paired states: Kerala & Tamil Nadu, West Bengal & Gujarat, Andhra Pradesh & Himachal Pradesh, and Assam & Karnataka.
