AKSHARAYATHRA

‘Aksharayathra’ is a programme organized by the kerala Bala Sahithya Institute in collaboration with schools all over Kerala. This programme was conducted in Amrita Vidyalayam, Pathanamthitta on July 13th, 2015. It was inaugurated by Pathanamthitta Municipal Chairman Advocate A. Suresh Kumar. The Director of Bala Sahithya Institute, Dr. Nedumudi Harikumar presided over the function. Students were given awareness about the importance of reading and formation of libraries. Municipal Education Standing Committee Chairman, Sri Jasimkutty welcomed the gathering. During the “Gurupooja” which was conducted as part of the Aksharayathra, Sri P.S. Rajendra Prasad, the backbone of Amrita Vidyalayam, Pathanamthitta, was honoured with a momento which was presented to him by Dr. Nedumudi Harikumar. Our Principal, Bri. Sethu expressed our gratitude towards him. In order to kindle the aesthetic sense of the students, Sri Manakala Gopalakrishnan discussed the various stages in music which was a new experience for all of them. Winners of the reading competition conducted as part of Aksharayathra were also award prizes by Advocate Pazhamkulam Madhu. School leader, Kumari Sreelekshmi P. Kumar delivered a speech about Aksharayathra. Our Vice-Principal, Smt. Sumangala Haridas offered felicitation, and the programme ended with the vote of thanks being given by our Malayalam teacher, Smt. Genga.
